Kitten Yoga in Brisbane: Your New Favourite Workout

You can have every intention of concentrating on your yoga and still find a kitten more interesting. We understand. Our kitten yoga in Brisbane brings the two together: an instructor guides the movement while the kittens explore the room, investigate something that catches their eye or settle down for a rest.
You don't need yoga experience or a cat of your own to come along. We provide the mats and organise the animals' care, so you can enjoy the hour without having to be especially good at yoga. Being easily distracted by a kitten is fairly understandable here.

What is kitten yoga?
Kitten yoga is a guided yoga session that shares the space with kittens. There's gentle movement and time to enjoy their company, with staff supervising the animals throughout. The kittens aren't props for the poses, and they don't have to be held or passed around.
Some may come over to investigate your mat. Others might be more interested in a toy, another kitten or a quiet corner. We make room for that variety rather than expecting every animal to spend the session on someone's lap. A kitten choosing to watch from a little distance is still taking part in its own way.
An hour of yoga, with room for distractions
Our Brisbane kitten sessions run for 60 minutes. An instructor leads the yoga, and no previous experience is needed. You can follow the movement at a comfortable pace, take a break and enjoy an interaction when a kitten chooses to approach.
The introduction explains the session and safe interaction before everyone gets going. Listen to the team, stay down at floor level when handling an animal and let a kitten move away when it wants to. If you're unsure how to respond to a particularly curious visitor, ask our staff. They're there to look after the kittens and help guests interact appropriately.
Where we host kitten yoga in Brisbane
We run kitten yoga across all four of our Brisbane locations: Hawthorne, Highgate Hill, Paddington and Albion. Whether you’re joining us north or south of the river, you can choose the studio that suits you when a kitten session is released.
The suburb attached to your chosen session is the one to use when planning your visit. Our Brisbane sessions page brings the local programme together, including puppy yoga and other animal sessions when they're released. Look for a listing specifically labelled kitten yoga rather than assuming every Brisbane date will feature kittens.
Kitten sessions run on selected dates at each studio, so check the animal, suburb and start time before booking.

The kittens choose how much to join in
A good kitten session leaves space for the kittens to be kittens. That means opportunities to explore and play, somewhere to retreat, and no pressure to stay with a guest who would rather keep cuddling. Our team monitors the animals and can adjust an interaction when one needs a break.
Our animal welfare standards explain the wider approach behind our sessions, including supervision, appropriate environments and voluntary interaction. For kitten sessions, quiet retreat spaces and suitable toileting facilities are part of preparing for the animals who are actually attending.
It also means a cuddle isn't something we can promise on demand. Enjoy the contact a kitten chooses, and leave a resting animal to its very important resting.
What to wear and bring
Choose comfortable clothes you can stretch and sit in, and bring water. A mat is provided, so you can leave yours at home. Shoes, bags and personal belongings stay outside the animal area, and guests sanitise their hands before entering.
Read the arrival instructions and complete the required waiver before your visit. If you have an allergy or need to check whether the floor-based format suits you, contact us before buying a ticket. A session with kittens involves sharing the room with cats; it isn't an animal-free yoga class with an optional cuddle afterwards.
You don't bring your own cat. The animals attending are arranged through our approved partners so we can manage suitability and care.

Finding your Brisbane kitten session
Current Brisbane kitten listings are $59 per person for the hour, with the venue and available times shown before you book. New sessions are released around three weeks ahead, so the city page is the place to check as your preferred weekend gets closer.
If you're keen for a little yoga and some feline company, browse our upcoming animal yoga sessions in Brisbane and choose a kitten-labelled date. We'll have the mats ready; the kittens can take their own approach to the rest.
