A good Sunday in Melbourne does not need a packed itinerary. An hour of puppy yoga, a coffee you have time to finish and a wander through the Queen Vic Market make a perfectly respectable plan. The puppies may have other ideas about how much yoga gets done.

Our West Melbourne sessions give you a starting point for that kind of day. Here is how to fit the session, coffee and market around each other, with enough room to enjoy all three.

Start with puppy yoga in West Melbourne

We run our Melbourne puppy yoga sessions at La Encantada Collective, 69 Abbotsford Street, West Melbourne VIC 3003. Each session lasts 60 minutes and combines beginner-friendly movement, supervised puppy interaction and relaxation.

You do not need to arrive with an impressive yoga practice. Our instructor guides the movement, and you can take it at your own pace. There is room to stretch, settle into the session and appreciate whichever puppy has decided your mat is worth investigating.

Choose an available Sunday on our Melbourne puppy yoga page, then plan the rest of your outing around the time you book. The venue and available sessions are shown with each release, so check your chosen listing before making other arrangements.

Leave room for coffee on Errol Street

For the coffee part of the plan, Errol Street in neighbouring North Melbourne is an option. Affinity On Errol, at 116 Errol Street, serves breakfast and lunch and is listed as opening from 8 am to 4 pm on Sundays.

That gives you some flexibility: have coffee before a later session, or keep it for afterwards if you prefer to arrive without rushing. You can check Affinity On Errol's current hours before heading over, particularly on public holidays. It is a separate stop from the studio, so allow for the journey between them.

Make time for the Queen Vic Market

Queen Victoria Market adds a different pace to the day. There is fresh produce to browse, food in the Dairy Hall and speciality stalls selling everything from homewares to locally made gifts. It also gives you another option for coffee or lunch if you would rather keep the outing to two stops.

The City of Melbourne's Queen Victoria Market listing gives regular Sunday hours of 9 am to 4 pm. Check the latest trading information for the day you are visiting and leave yourself enough time to browse rather than arriving just as stalls are closing.

A reusable bag is a sensible addition if you plan to shop. It is much easier to justify another market purchase when you have already brought somewhere to put it.

Choose an order that suits your session

If you book an early session

Start with puppy yoga, then head for breakfast or coffee. The market opens from 9 am on Sundays, so it can follow afterwards. This order keeps your booked activity first and leaves the rest of the morning flexible.

If you book around the middle of the day

Have a coffee first or start at the market, then make your way to the studio with time to spare. Keep an eye on your session time while browsing, and allow for the journey rather than squeezing in one last stall.

If you book an afternoon session

Put the market and lunch earlier in the day. With the market's regular Sunday closing time at 4 pm, an afternoon yoga session may work better as your final stop. You can finish the outing on the mat without having to race to another booking.

A few practical details before you head out

Our Melbourne public tickets are currently $59 per person, with each session lasting one hour. Book your preferred session before organising the rest of the day, and use the current listing and your confirmation for the details of your visit.

Wear comfortable clothes that let you move easily and are suitable for spending time on the floor with puppies. If you are heading out afterwards, choose something you will also be happy wearing for coffee and a market wander. Our session FAQs cover preparation and participation questions.

Plan travel between Abbotsford Street, Errol Street and the market as separate parts of the outing. Check your route before leaving and allow extra time for parking if you drive. A relaxed Sunday works much better when it does not depend on finding a space at the last minute.

The puppies set their own pace

The hour is planned around the puppies' comfort as well as your experience. We work with Victorian breeders and rescue groups, with supervised interaction, a separate retreat space and rest between sessions.

Puppies can choose to approach, explore or rest. Guests remain seated when holding them, and our team guides the interaction. A puppy taking a nap is enjoying a perfectly valid Sunday too.

Our animal welfare approach explains how we manage care, hygiene, rest and voluntary interaction. It is part of what makes the session work, rather than something separate from the experience.

Make a Sunday of it

Keep the plan simple: pick your session, allow time to get there and add coffee or the market in whichever order suits. You can enjoy the puppy yoga hour on its own, or let it be the starting point for a slower day around West Melbourne.
